Payroll Director
About the role
The Payroll Director will lead the payroll team, ensuring they deliver a world-class pay experience for Airbus Americas and affiliates. Reporting to the Head of HR & Work Place Shared Services, this role involves defining and managing payroll strategy, integrating acquisitions, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Leadership: Oversee payroll team, develop and train staff, foster relationships with senior stakeholders.
Project Management: Coordinate and manage payroll integration for acquisitions, create project plans, diagnose issues, and recommend improvements.
Strategy: Define and manage payroll operations strategy, collaborate on strategic opportunities, and enable technology.
Compliance: Ensure accuracy, labor law adherence, and regulatory compliance; oversee team activities and processes.
Other duties as assigned: Support broader HR initiatives and ensure service standards meet SLAs.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration or related field; Master's degree in Business Administration, Tax Law, or International Law preferred.
Experience: 10+ years of payroll experience with increasing responsibility; 15+ years of progressive HR and/or finance experience; 5+ years of leadership experience.
Skills: Payroll tax experience preferred; payroll implementation experience preferred; experience working in a multi-functional international environment preferred.
Licenses/Certifications: Certified Payroll Professional (CPP); PHR, SPHR, or SHRM certifications preferred.
Qualifications
Travel: 10% domestic.
Physical Requirements: Vision, hearing, speaking, equipment operation, carrying, lifting, squatting/kneeling, standing, pushing/pulling, sitting, walking, appropriate hearing/eye protection.
Skills
Strong leadership and coaching skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage complex projects and prioritize tasks.
Proven experience in payroll administration and compliance.
Knowledge of HRIS and payroll systems.

$165,000.00 - 200,000.00/year.
