Payroll Coordinator

Responsibilities
- Support payroll processing activities and ensure employees are paid accurately and on time.
- Maintain payroll records and employee information.
- Audit timecards for accuracy and policy compliance.
- Respond to employee payroll questions and resolve issues.
- Coordinate with HR, Benefits, and Accounting teams to ensure accurate payroll processing.
- Support compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on payroll department experience.
- Proven experience of wage garnishment administration in a multi-state environment, including child support orders, tax levies, and creditor garnishments, with a strong understanding of payroll compliance requirements, withholding limits and applicable federal and state regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft office, especially Excel (lookups, formulas, audit spreadsheets).
- Proficient with payroll and timekeeping systems and ability to learn and support new payroll technologies and system implementations.
- Familiarity with certified payroll, prevailing wage, and union requirements a plus.

Work Environment & Physical Demands
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and distance vision. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, and use hands to handle tools and materials. The role may involve working outdoors in varying weather conditions and on active construction sites.
