Payroll Compliance Specialist

About the role

The Payroll Compliance Specialist will report directly to the Payroll Supervisor and will be responsible for assisting with accurate and timely compensation payments to employees.

Responsibilities

• Collecting and verifying timekeeping information for all applicable employees
• Calculating compensation according to hours worked incorporating leaves and overtime
• Resolving payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
• Updating employee payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers
• Conducting payroll audits and answering employee payroll inquiries
• Maintaining confidentiality and integrity of employee payroll information
• Communicating with management on timekeeping anomalies
• Other projects and tasks as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• 2 or more years of payroll experience preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Analytical with a strong attention to detail
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Knowledge of Workday a plus

• Ability to multi-task, problem solve, and prioritize daily workload
• Excellent organization and record keeping skills
• Comfortable with oral and written communications, primarily on the telephone and email
• Capability of sight and hearing required
• Ability to deal with stressful situations and occasionally working extended hours

Physical Requirements

• Job functions require long periods of sitting and working from a computer workstation
• Requires extended periods of sitting, normal walking, bending, twisting, and stretching

Pay

$19-20/hour commensurate on experience
