Payroll Compliance and Operations Analyst
About the role
The Payroll Compliance and Operations Analyst plays a key role in ensuring accurate, compliant, and efficient payroll operations across a global organization. This role partners across teams to monitor payroll and timekeeping processes, meet financial, tax, and labor reporting requirements, and drive process improvements that reduce risk and strengthen operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate payroll controls compliance globally through the monitoring, and analysis of controls surrounding payroll & timekeeping functions as required by the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX), General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the internal audit department.
- Collaborate with Legal, EEO and Employee Relations teams to provide payroll and time analytics in support of required governmental surveys and information requests.
- Facilitate monthly capture and consolidation of global key performance indicators (KPIs) and SLA monitoring, continuously analyzing to recommend scope changes that drive operational health improvements and optimize payroll accuracy and timeliness.
- Cook up internal and external audit responses with accurate documentation and compliance evidence; drive global documentation standards and data audit process standards for ensuring business continuity, payroll accuracy and compliance in practices.
- Lead process mapping initiatives to address gaps and risks in operational processes and coordinate projects that enhance efficiency and standardization across regions.
- Serve as the primary payroll liaison for pay and labor policies due to evolving business needs, harmonization objectives and legislative regulations.
- Data standards gatekeeper for payroll element configurations; responsible for establishing and maintaining global data standards to optimize automation and streamline interfaces from HR to downstream payroll and time processes and systems.
- Conduct regular audits of Support mergers and acquisitions through the management of payroll data capture and analytical support in partnership with M&A project teams.
- Provide analytics and data disclosure support for divestitures and TSAs adherence in partnership with project teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a Human Resources, Payroll, Finance, Business, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years related work experience in high volume, multinational payroll operations.
- Minimum of 3 years analytical experience; preferably in a global environment.
- Strong understanding of payroll compliance including financial and tax obligations.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across time zones with demonstrated ability to navigate large volumes of data and manage complex data analytics.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI, AI tools and global HRIS systems is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- SOX Act compliance and internal/external audit experience.
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
- Project management experience or certification (PMP or similar).
- Experience with global tax and labor regulations including GDPR.
- Experience with Oracle applications.
