About the Role

Williams International has an exciting opportunity for a Payroll & Benefits Administrator to join our team. This role performs a variety of payroll-related activities, employee travel expense report processing, and coordination of administrative activities for selected employee benefit programs with employees, company management, and benefit providers. This position is 100% on-site.

Responsibilities

  • Performs day-to-day activities of the payroll function, including timely preparation of payroll checks, withholding deposits, and payroll accounting.
  • Processes garnishment requests and responds to requests for verification of employment, medical support orders, etc.
  • Performs weekly timekeeping activities, ensuring all employees have entered accurate time and all hours are properly booked into the accounting system.
  • Verifies weekly HR input and new hire entries to ensure accuracy.
  • Ensures the payroll system operates accurately by performing balancing and reconciliation procedures.
  • Assists the Finance team with reconciliations of general ledger payroll accounts and makes corrections when appropriate.
  • Processes all requests for Educational Assistance, including preparation of employee agreements, tuition receipts for reimbursement, and university invoices for payment.
  • Assists government and independent auditors by providing documents and analytical schedules as requested.
  • Implements, updates, and tests proposed changes affecting the payroll software system with minimal outside supervision.
  • Administers the company’s Employee Savings Plan (401k Plan) and selected welfare benefit plans.
  • Administers sick leave programs, including FMLA, by coordinating leave requests, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, tracking leave usage, and communicating required information to employees and management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with courses in finance/human resources or equivalent.
  • 0-2 years’ experience in payroll/benefits administration.
  • Experience with UKG payroll system and/or SAP is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees is essential.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, if needed. Candidates may be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
