The Payroll Assistant supports the payroll function by helping ensure employees are paid accurately and on time. This position assists with payroll processing, employee record maintenance, payroll reconciliations, reporting, and responding to employee payroll inquiries while maintaining strict confidentiality and compliance with applicable policies and regulations. Key Responsibilities Assist with the preparation and processing of weekly, biweekly, or monthly payroll.Review timesheets, attendance records, and payroll data to identify and resolve discrepancies before payroll deadlines.Enter, update, and maintain accurate employee information within payroll and accounting systems.Assist with calculations for regular wages, overtime, bonuses, deductions, reimbursements, and other payroll adjustments.Maintain organized and confidential payroll records and supporting documentation.Respond to employee questions regarding pay, deductions, tax withholdings, benefits, and other payroll-related matters.Assist with payroll tax filings, reporting, and other compliance-related activities as needed.Reconcile payroll reports to accounting records and investigate variances or unusual transactions.Prepare recurring payroll reports and analyses for management and the accounting team.Ensure payroll activities are performed in accordance with company policies, procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.Support other accounting, administrative, and payroll-related projects as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework or degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field preferred.Prior experience in payroll, accounting, HR, finance, or an administrative role preferred.Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy when handling financial and employee information.Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet recurring deadlines.Basic understanding of payroll processes, wage calculations, deductions, tax withholdings, and employee benefits.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with payroll or accounting systems.Ability to handle sensitive and confidential employee information with professionalism and discretion.Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer-service mindset.Demonstrated ability to identify discrepancies, research issues, and resolve problems efficiently. Compensation: $25-30/hr Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications. #SONINY
