Key Responsibilities
- Process payroll for approximately 125 employees for two payrolls (bi-weekly and weekly), ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and confidentiality.
- Review and validate employee time and payroll data to ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
- Prepare payroll-related journal entries and assist with payroll account reconciliations.
- Maintain payroll records and safeguard sensitive employee and compensation information.
- Serve as a point of contact for employee payroll-related questions and issues.
- Process customer invoices and apply incoming payments accurately.
- Prepare account statements and assist with account reconciliations.
- Research and resolve billing discrepancies and customer account concerns.
- Respond to customer and vendor inquiries regarding account activity and payment status.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging and support collection efforts as needed.
- Absorb customer account setup and maintenance, including required documentation.
- Cook up with internal departments to process customer credits, adjustments, and related transactions.
- Support month-end and year-end accounting activities as assigned.
- Maintain accurate financial records and support reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes and operational efficiency.
- Provide administrative and project support to Accounting, Human Resources, and other departments as needed.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
- An associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field is preferred.
- Two to four years of payroll, accounting, bookkeeping, or administrative support experience are required.
- Experience processing payroll for multi-department employee populations is preferred.
- A working knowledge of payroll practices, accounting principles, and general business operations is necessary.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, is required.
- Experience with payroll, accounting, ERP, or HRIS systems is preferred.
- A strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential.
- Eloquent written and verbal communication skills are required.
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment is necessary.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism is required.
