We are looking for a Payroll & Accounts Payable Analyst to own the accurate and timely processing of employee payroll and vendor payments. - Calculate, reconcile, and remit payroll taxes, garnishments, benefits deductions, and 401(k) contributions, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Manage the full accounts payable lifecycle, including invoice intake, GL coding, approval routing, and timely vendor payments via ACH, check, and wire
- Perform three-way matching of invoices to purchase orders and receipts, resolving discrepancies with vendors and internal stakeholders
- Maintain vendor master data, collect W-9s, and prepare and file annual 1099s
- Reconcile payroll and A/P subledgers to the general ledger and prepare related journal entries and accruals for month-end close
- Monitor A/P aging and payment terms to optimize cash flow and capture early-payment discounts
- Administer employee expense reimbursements and corporate card programs, ensuring policy compliance
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries and vendor payment questions with accuracy, professionalism, and discretion
- Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and reconciliations
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls across the payroll and A/P functions
- Identify and implement opportunities to automate and scale payroll and A/P workflows as the company grows
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 2–4 years of hands-on payroll and/or accounts payable experience
- Working knowledge of payroll tax regulations and wage-and-hour compliance
- Solid understanding of A/P processes, GL coding, and accrual accounting fundamentals
- Hands-on experience with a payroll platform and an ERP/accounting system
- Strong command of Google Sheets and Excel
- High degree of accuracy and discretion when handling confidential payroll and financial data
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage recurring, non-negotiable deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Comfortable working independently in a fully remote, fast-paced startup environment
Preferred Qualifications

- Multi-state payroll experience
- Experience with 1099 and monthly/quarterly/year-end payroll tax reporting
