Payroll Analyst
Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Analyst to join our Finance team. This role is responsible for supporting the accurate and timely processing of payroll for a growing workforce while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Requirements
- Process weekly and biweekly payroll for 300+ employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Audit and review timesheets, payroll adjustments, and pay records to ensure compliance with company policies.
- Manage payroll-related deductions, including garnishments, tax levies, and other authorized withholdings.
- Administer and maintain the electronic timekeeping system, ensuring accurate transfer of data between timekeeping and payroll platforms.
- Review payroll changes and transactions for proper approvals and regulatory compliance.
- Aid with payroll tax filings and payroll-related reporting requirements.
- Prepare payroll-related journal entries and general ledger reconciliations.
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries.
- Maintain payroll records while ensuring confidentiality and data integrity.
- Support internal audits and payroll process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field required.
- Accounting degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2+ years of payroll processing experience.
- Experience working with integrated payroll and accounting systems.
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations and payroll tax requirements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and consistently meet deadlines.
- Experience with payroll reconciliations and general ledger postings.
- Knowledge of payroll tax reporting and compliance.
- Experience with electronic timekeeping systems.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software applications.
- Ability to identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency.
