About the Role

The Payroll Analyst at General Code Enterprises, LLC plays a vital role in managing and executing payroll operations, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of employee compensation. This position involves detailed payroll analysis, maintaining compliance with applicable regulations, and supporting financial activities related to payroll and accounting. The role requires a proactive individual who can collaborate effectively with Human Resources, Finance, and Operations teams to provide insights, streamline processes, and uphold the company's commitment to accuracy and compliance. The Payroll Analyst will also assist in financial reporting, account reconciliation, and regulatory filings, contributing to the overall financial health and operational efficiency of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Process and reconcile bi-weekly payroll to ensure accuracy in employee earnings, deductions, benefits, and taxes.
• Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, respond to employee inquiries, and address compliance issues related to payroll and taxes.
• Prepare, calculate, and process monthly sales commission reports, ensuring timely and accurate payments to sales staff.
• Generate and analyze payroll, labor, and financial reports, including budget-to-actual comparisons, payroll accruals, and departmental spending trends.
• Reconcile payroll, sales tax, and other balance sheet accounts; prepare journal entries and support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
• Assist in developing budgets, forecasts, and financial projections, providing variance analysis to management for informed decision-making.
• Prepare and file sales and use tax returns, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements; maintain business licenses, registrations, and permits.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, Operations, and external regulatory agencies on payroll, compliance, and financial matters to ensure seamless operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in payroll, accounting, financial analysis, or similar finance functions.
• Strong knowledge of payroll processing, tax compliance, and general ledger reconciliations.
• Experience in financial reporting.
• Proficiency with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and payroll software.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools.
• Attention to detail, analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and a high level of accuracy.
• Experience with sales and use tax compliance, business registrations, licenses, and regulatory filings is preferred.
