Responsibilities
- Weekly processing of bi-weekly payroll for 500+ employees using current payroll software (Workday)
- Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the payroll system, including employee’s hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information
- Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, charitable contributions, and other deductions
- Issues, or reissues, physical or replacement checks or direct deposits due to payroll errors or final discharge
- Records and processes federal and state payroll tax deposits
- Prepare payroll analysis and reports as needed
- Audit and reconciliation of weekly time and attendance reports to payroll
- Research and respond to employee and manager questions and/or discrepancies
- Reconciliation of quarterly and annual Federal and State reports to payroll
- Work closely with the Human Resources department
- Guide and train employees on proper time keeping procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Associates degree in accounting or related field with a minimum of 5 years experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Required Skills: Strong customer service skills; Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software; Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll software; Maintain and treat all information as confidential; Possess the tact to deal with all levels of employees and client representatives; Must be able to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in English; Must be able to verbally direct in English; Ability to maintain accuracy, meet deadlines, detail oriented, organized and able to prioritize effectively
