Thuma is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Payroll Administrator to manage and execute end-to-end payroll operations. This role is critical to ensuring our employees are paid accurately, on time, and in compliance with all applicable regulations. You’ll work closely with Finance, People Operations, and external partners to support a smooth, transparent payroll experience as Thuma continues to grow. You Will Process multi-state payroll across multiple schedules using Rippling, building relationships with site managers to ensure timely timecard submissions and approvals in compliance with federal, state, and local minimum wage laws, tax regulations, and required deductions.Administer 401(k) contributions, including funding, reconciliations, and ongoing compliance reportingManage payroll tax filings, workers’ compensation audits, 401(k) audits, and unemployment/disability claims processing in partnership with external vendors and agenciesSupport equity compensation reporting in Carta, ensuring payroll tax accuracy and compliance related to stock-based compensation eventsCoordinate Pay Data Reporting, ACA compliance, and benefits non-discrimination testingReconcile payroll reports and support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activitiesMaintain accurate payroll records and documentation, ensuring audit readiness and data integrityServe as a trusted point of contact for employee payroll questions, providing clear and timely supportPartner closely with Finance and the People Team to continuously improve payroll processes as Thuma scalesSupport benefits and insurance program administrationSupport with the build and maintenance of all pay related policies for onboarding paperworkProactively monitor overtime, double time, meal and rest break violations and labor spend.Ensure compliance with state and federal employment laws, including pay transparency and wage regulations.In partnership with the People Team, support the business with managing non-employee workers including overseas EORs, contractor classifications, compliance and payment processes. This Might Describe You 5+ years of payroll administration experience, preferably in a high-growth and multi-state environment supporting large hourly employee populations.
