Duties & Responsibilities

  • Pay employees by calculating pay and deductions, processing garnishments/levies, and issuing checks.
  • Solves payroll discrepancies/complaints by collecting and analyzing information.
  • Complies with government and company policies and conducts internal auditing of all payroll records.
  • Maintains accuracy and resolves problems associated with benefits, W-2s, unemployment and withholding tax.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of city, state, provincial, local, and federal legislation affecting payroll; understands and follows applicable provisions.
  • Maintains Payroll related tax accounts including registration, termination and updates.
  • Aids in preparing and reconciling journal entries and accruals in conjunction with the accounting team.
  • Processes requests for PTO and float time, maintaining accurate records/reports/accruals.
  • Processes account funding for 401K, HSA, FSA and any other employee-led contribution accounts.
  • Assists the Finance department as needed, including journal entries, reconciliations, and audits.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Experienced in Multi-State Payroll and Tax
  • Sharp attention to detail, very accurate and highly organized
  • Advanced Excel skills should include use of pivot tables, V-Lookups, as well as other moderate level functions
  • Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now, Windows (SAP SuccessFactors a plus)
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite as well MS Teams
  • Works well in a high volume, fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment
  • Critical thinking and problem solving is essential
