About the role
We are seeking a seasoned Java developer with over 10 years of experience to build and maintain scalable payment systems using modern cloud-native architectures.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy Java-based microservices using Spring MVC, Spring Boot, and REST APIs.
- Integrate with payment rails and products such as FedWire, Chips, TCH, SEPA, Wires, ACH, Real Time Payments, SWIFT, and ISO standards.
- Implement event-driven architectures with Kafka and message queues (MQ).
- Containerize applications using Kubernetes and deploy on cloud platforms.
- Apply object-oriented programming, design patterns, and architectural principles to create reusable Java libraries.
- Write clean, maintainable code and implement automated testing platforms and unit tests.
- Optimize application performance and monitor systems using tools like Splunk and SQL.
- Collaborate in Agile teams, following CI/CD practices with tools such as Git, Maven, Gradle, Ant, and Jenkins.
- Mentor team members and foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in Java, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, REST API, microservices, Kafka, cloud technologies, and Kubernetes.
- Hands-on experience with payment systems (e.g., FedWire, SWIFT, ISO messages, ACH, real-time payments).
- Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude) is a plus.
- Strong understanding of concurrency patterns, JVM internals, and scalable application design.
- Proficiency with code versioning tools (Git) and build automation (Maven, Gradle).
- Experience with both embedded and external databases.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Pay
$110,000 – $125,000 a year.
