About the Role
We are seeking a Payments QA Engineer with deep expertise in wire transfer processing and a strong understanding of payment systems and messaging standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive manual test cases covering functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements.
- Generate, condition, and manage compliant test data across environments.
- Analyze payment and message processing flows, including dependencies across wire processing, client products, and database structures.
- Test middleware interfaces such as web services, daemons, and message-based integrations.
- Collaborate with distributed, cross-functional teams to ensure features function as intended.
- Support and validate ISO20022 messages (CBPR+, Fedwire, CHIPS) and legacy SWIFT MT formats.
- Work with tools like SOAP UI, Postman, Jira, Confluence, Octane, and MTS utilities.
- Communicate effectively with business technology partners at all organizational levels.
- Build strong relationships with development teams and support groups.
- Operate independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Deep knowledge of wire transfer processing with hands-on experience in ACI MTS, including payment/message flows, validations, and downstream impacts.
- Strong understanding of ISO20022 messages (CBPR+, Fedwire, CHIPS) and legacy SWIFT MT formats.
- Experience with Agile, SDLC, and test management methodologies.
- Familiarity with Linux and shell scripting.
- Experience supporting and testing middleware interfaces (web services, daemons, message-based integrations).
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and highly organized with the ability to drive assignments to completion.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Adaptable in a fast-paced environment and able to meet established timelines.
- Confidence in decision-making to ensure feature functionality.
- Understanding of wire processing dependencies, including Fedwire, CHIPS, SWIFT practices, formats, reconciliation, and gpi processing.
