Payment Posting Specialist

Contract to Hire position based in Baltimore, MD.

About the role

Payment Poster for the billing team. Responsibilities include taking payments, setting up payment plans, handling copays, posting payments, charge entry and reconciliation/review, keying data into EPIC, and working from the EPIC work queue to assist with overflow. Directly supports all billers with additional duties as assigned. Also answers incoming calls from patients, requiring a customer/patient-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

• Process payments and set up payment plans
• Post payments and handle charge entry
• Perform reconciliation and review tasks
• Key data into EPIC and manage EPIC work queue for overflow support
• Provide administrative support to billers as needed
• Answer incoming calls from patients
• Handle insurance verification and patient access tasks
• Work with EOBs, manual posting, research, and remittance
• Use Excel daily for data management

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 2-3+ years of related experience as a Payment Poster, including payment posting, charge entry, light medical billing, or patient financial services
• Strong computer skills, including daily use of Excel
• Experience with EOBs, manual posting, research, and remittance
• Preferred: Experience with EPIC for data retrieval

Pay

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00 per hour. Individual compensation within this range will depend on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
