About the role

This position provides oversight of the payroll department and supports other project departments as needed, typically assigned to small to medium-sized projects or assisting on larger projects. Responsibilities include managing payroll staff, fostering professional development, and ensuring compliance with finance processes and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze situations, identify and forecast problems, and recommend or implement solutions.
  • Organize and prioritize multiple projects and tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Review and establish compliance documentation for work practices.
  • Monitor all Finance processes for compliance.
  • Ensure supervised personnel understand how to apply compliance regulations to daily work.
  • Coordinate data entry of HR changes (new hires, terminations, rate changes) for timely payroll processing.
  • Perform standard daily payroll duties, including project payroll start-up and close-out.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A combination of education and directly related experience equal to six (6) years; local requirements may vary.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
  • Job-related technical knowledge necessary to complete tasks.
  • Ability to learn and apply local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Supervisory and hands-on experience in payroll duties.
  • Experience with project payroll start-up and close-out.
  • Proficiency with badge systems, payroll, and timekeeping systems.
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Advanced personal computer skills, including Microsoft software.
  • Strong math skills and understanding of file organization.
  • Knowledge of craft wage packages and fringe benefits.

Pay

Salary range: $53,500.00 – $99,500.00. The market rate is typically at the midpoint of this range, with final salary determined by candidate qualifications, experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions.

Background checks, including education, professional registration, employment, references, passport verification, and Global Watchlist screening, are required for conditional offers. Candidates must be authorized to work in the country where the position is located.
