About the role
This position is responsible for overseeing safety protocols and training programs within a transportation company.Responsibilities
- Oversee safety inspections and audits
- Develop and implement new safety policies and procedures
- Train drivers and staff on safety best practices
- Coordinate emergency response plans and drills
- Monitor compliance with federal and state regulations
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in safety management
- Proven track record in developing and implementing safety programs
- Knowledge of federal and state transportation regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Associate's degree in Safety Management or related field
- Professional Safety Certification (e.g., OSHA 10/30
- Certificate in Emergency Management
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Effective problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with risk assessment and hazard identification
