About the role
The PAVE Team Leader is a student leadership role focused on helping fellow student veterans feel connected, supported, and informed. In this position, you’ll help guide Peer Advisors, share helpful campus and community resources, and support programming that builds community and awareness.
Roles And Responsibilities
- Help recruit and train new Peer Advisors
- Help identify veterans who would benefit from participating in PAVE
- Identify on-campus, VA, and community resources for use by Peer Advisors and student veterans
- Serve as a campus ambassador for PAVE, creating awareness of the program and the issues facing student veterans
- Review logs created by Peer Advisors and help with connection to additional resources
- Hold bi-weekly meetings with Peer Advisors
- Document PAVE activities using the online reporting structure
- Relay pertinent information to appropriate university staff
- Plan educational and social programming
Qualifications
- Military service
- Good academic standing (2.5 or above GPA)
- Good interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lead and also work as part of a team
- Awareness of transition challenges
- Awareness of campus services, and federal and community resources
- Ability to engage with and motivate people from diverse backgrounds
Time Commitment
- Co-facilitate local training sessions and meetings
- Make a minimum commitment of two semesters
- Dedicate approximately 8-10 hours weekly to program activities
- Participate in scheduled calls with PAVE National Team Program staff
