PAUT/QUPA Technician
About the role
Acuren is seeking a PAUT/QUPA Technician for an embedded role in Monaca, PA. The position involves conducting non-destructive testing (NDT) to ensure quality and detect discontinuities, adhering to safety regulations, and evaluating results against applicable standards.
Responsibilities
- Conduct tests using NDT methods (e.g., UT, UTPA, PAUT, CR, DR) to detect defects.
- Establish inspection techniques and apply testing criteria per specifications and standards.
- Identify, track, and mitigate risks on client engagements; escalate issues as needed.
- Review asset documentation, operational data, and inspection records.
- Complete integrity assessments, including physical site walkdowns.
- Prepare project reports with descriptions, conclusions, and recommendations.
- Perform specialized inspections and develop techniques for customer approval.
- Instruct and supervise others as required.
- Interface with customers on schedules and problem-solving.
- Adhere to ASME and API requirements for equipment evaluation.
- Follow industry health and safety policies and procedures.
- Use applicable software and computer-related equipment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent (some college preferred).
- Technical background in NDT (e.g., UT, UTPA, PAUT, CR, DR) with five years of experience.
- Current NDT certifications in relevant methods (e.g., UT, UTPA, PAUT, CR, DR).
- Supervisory experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to perform NDT tasks and interpret inspection results.

Working Conditions
Outside environment with continuous physical effort, exposure to elements, and moderate mental effort. Travel may be required.
