Patternmaker/Machinist Tech Center
About the role
The Machinist – Tool and Die – Patternmaker Technician position is responsible for building and maintaining fully machined tool steel patterns for Victaulic facilities worldwide. This role requires proficiency in a broad scope of machining skills, including both traditional manual and advanced CNC operations.
Responsibilities
- Read blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and interpret GD&T
- Use micrometers, calipers, indicators and all commonly applied measuring tools with familiarity of close tolerance dimensioning
- Utilize math functions including trigonometry describing 3D shapes both manually and within CAD environments
- Experience in Solidworks and Mastercam modeling and toolpath software are primary assets to our operations
- Set up and operate CNC machines including writing and editing G code and M code programs as required
- Proficiency in taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting processes, adjusting, and editing with continuous improvement in mind
- Operate an overhead crane and drive a forklift
- CNC Machinery experience includes 3 axis vertical mill (primarily) and lathe operations
- Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
- Maintain equipment using preventative maintenance
- Maintain an organized and clean work environment
Requirements
Experience in 3D metal patternmaking preferred. Required to lift up to 50 lbs. Moderate walking, standing, lifting, carrying, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Work around moving objects, and with machinery with moving parts.
Qualifications
- 2+ Years Technical schooling preferred
- 5+ years on the job experience preferred
- High School graduate
- Able to work well with others
Skills
- Proficiency in machining skill sets of both traditionally manual, and advanced CNC operations
