Responsibilities

  • Analyze situations quickly and objectively to determine the proper course of action.
  • Perform work requiring good physical condition.
  • React effectively to emergency and stress situations.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Use and care for firearms and other standard police equipment.
  • Operate a motor vehicle.
  • Apply modern law enforcement principles, procedures, techniques, and equipment.
  • Enforce local, state, and federal laws.
  • Ensure traffic safety, manage pursuits, arrests, detentions, and provide emergency medical assistance.

Requirements

  • Wyoming Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Certification, or the ability to obtain it.
  • Uncertified candidates will be compensated during their attendance at Peace Officer Basic training.
