About the role

Performs work activities of the Central Transportation department, including transport of patients, equipment, and supplies to various patient care areas.

Responsibilities

  • Transports patients to various areas of the Medical Center by stretcher, wheelchair, or bed.
  • Delivers and retrieves transportation equipment as requested.
  • Utilizes resources to ensure safe and efficient patient throughput.
  • Provides assistance in medical emergencies.
  • Ensures equipment is ready when needed.

Technical Capabilities

  • Dispatch (Fundamental Awareness): Has limited experience, training, or exposure to dispatch.
  • Medical Equipment Knowledge (Fundamental Awareness): Awareness of capabilities of specific medical equipment and its characteristics. Able to use equipment for basic tasks.
  • Customer Service (Novice): Demonstrates ability to influence customers, verify and clarify needs, and respond efficiently to requests. Keeps customers informed and meets service needs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Less than 1 year of relevant work experience.
