Patient Transporter PRN

Job Summary

As a Transporter, you will perform duties directly involved with the transporting of patients via wheelchairs, stretchers and/or beds, to and from the assigned department. You will also provide general assistance to areas of the assigned department as assigned. Reports to the shift supervisor.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Transport patients to and from clinical, ancillary and support areas as requested.
• Aid clinical personnel in transferring patients to and from beds, wheelchairs or stretchers.
• Greet and offer assistance to customers throughout the hospital.
• Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
• Orient and mentor new staff members.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• High School Graduate / GED.

We are an Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) Primary Stroke Center. HCA Florida Palms West Hospital has emergency services, a dedicated New Life Center and a Level II NICU. We have a full-service Children’s Hospital. Services include outpatient rehabilitation, an aquatics center, orthopedic spine center, robotics, and interventional radiology.
