About the role

The Patient Transport Lead functions under the supervision of a first line Coordinator and is responsible for ensuring patient transporter/Telemetry Assists perform their duties in the absence of the department coordinator.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients from patient room to appropriate area by wheelchair, stretcher, or bed
• Deliver and place remote telemetry boxes on patients using proper techniques demonstrated in their competency
• Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to patients served
• Demonstrate knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to collect data reflective of patient status and report to registered nurse
• Demonstrate iPad and iPhone competency within 30 days of hire
• Relieve each other for breaks

Requirements

• Graduate from high school or high school equivalent program
• Six months supervisor or lead experience required
• Current Basic Life Support required
