PATIENT TRANSPORTER (FULL TIME AND PART TIME)
About the role
Patient Transporter positions are available at Ingalls Memorial Hospital, located at 1 Ingalls Drive, Harvey, L 60426. Online applications are accepted. Schedules include first and second shifts, with varying hours and days, including weekends. Prior patient care and CPR experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Properly and safely transports patients, secures IVs, drainage tubes, and other patient-related items.
- Uses wheelchairs and other approved rolling stock to carry out essential duties.
- Demonstrates competency in transporting all specific age groups.
- Safely, timely, and accurately transports patients to their destination using the proper requested equipment.
- Communicates effectively with nursing personnel, clinicians, technicians, or receptionists and dispatchers.
- Maintains the comfort of the patient by offering blankets, checking modesty, and engaging in appropriate conversations.
- Alerts nursing staff to any signs of patient distress or equipment malfunction.
- Maintains equipment and reports any needed repairs.
- Complies with regulatory agency standards, including federal, state, and JCAHO guidelines.
- Adheres to facility confidentiality and patient's rights policies as outlined in HIPAA.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Prior patient care and CPR experience preferred.

Pay
$15.45 per hour.
