About the role
The Patient Transporter works under the supervision of a first‑line supervisor, performing delegated functions to support patient movement and related services at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, a member of HCA Healthcare.
Responsibilities
- Transport patients from rooms to appropriate areas using wheelchairs, stretchers, or beds.
- Provide specialty beds as needed throughout the facility.
- Transport laboratory specimens for pre‑admit testing.
- Move crash carts to the pharmacy for restocking and assist with medication delivery during tube‑system downtime.
- Provide courier/mailroom support as needed.
- Exchange empty O₂ tanks with full tanks daily.
- Deliver remote telemetry boxes to clinical staff and monitor technicians, ensuring timely communication.
- Demonstrate iPad and iPhone competency within 30 days of hire.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED preferred).
- Current CPR certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Previous orderly or transporter experience preferred; training candidates will be considered.
