About the role

As a team member, the Patient Transporter demonstrates the mission, vision, and values of HCA HealthONE while maintaining established departmental policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety standards, and environmental and infection control standards.

Responsibilities

Transports patients safely and efficiently between various departments following appropriate transfer techniques and proper isolation/infection control procedures.
Validates patient identity based on established department protocol.
Remains alert to patient condition and promptly communicates changes to clinical staff.
Assists with patient handling and lifting using appropriate patient safety equipment and safety procedures.
Responds to all job calls in a timely manner.
Communicates status updates and location information as required to facilitate workflow.
Collects, cleans, and disinfects patient care equipment and other reusable items according to organizational standards.
Performs supply restocking of assigned area as necessary.

Requirements

Positive, helpful attitude toward customers/patients and visitors.
Ability to remain calm in a variety of circumstances.
Must be flexible, reliable, and a team player.
Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
High school diploma or equivalent.
