About the role
Memorial Health is seeking a reliable, compassionate, and customer service-focused Patient Transporter to join our team on the evening shift in a full-time role. In this role, you will safely transport patients throughout the hospital while providing exceptional care and support. The Patient Transporter plays an important role in ensuring patients arrive at appointments, procedures, and treatments safely, efficiently, and comfortably.
Responsibilities
- Transport patients safely via wheelchair, stretcher, or hospital bed throughout the facility
- Assist with patient transfers while following established safety protocols
- Communicate professionally with patients, families, nurses, physicians, and other healthcare team members
- Respond promptly to transport requests and prioritize assignments appropriately
- Maintain patient dignity, comfort, and confidentiality at all times
- Transport medical equipment, specimens, and supplies as needed
- Follow infection prevention and patient safety guidelines
- Accurately document transport activities according to department procedures
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous customer service, healthcare, hospitality, or patient-facing experience preferred
- Ability to push, pull, lift, and maneuver patients and equipment safely
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a positive attitude
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or obtained within designated timeframe after hire
