Position Highlights

Position: Patient Transport
Location: Elmhurst Hospital
Part Time- 28hrs /Evening Shift
Hours: 2p to 10:30pm including every other weekend & rotating holiday schedule

About the role

The position involves transporting patients via wheelchair, stretcher, bed or alternative means under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures. Duties include disconnecting and re-connecting patient’s IV pumps from the IV pole and oxygen, delivering patient equipment to nursing floors as needed.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients via wheelchair, stretcher, bed or alternative means
• Disconnects and reconnects patient’s IV pumps from the IV pole and oxygen
• Delivers patient equipment to nursing floors as needed

Requirements

• High-school diploma
• American Heart Association BLS for healthcare provider certification
• Minimum six months customer service or patient transporter experience
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Very heavy functional demands requiring a very high energy level
• Ability to lift over 50 lbs., carry 80 lbs. a distance of 30 feet, push/pull > 200 lbs. (i.e. Patients on bed, stretcher), and perform lateral transfer or max assist sit to stand transfer

Pay

$17.86 - $25.00 per hour, determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience
