Patient Transportation Driver
About the role
The Patient Transport Driver provides safe and timely transportation of patients to and from Arrowhead Behavioral Health, a 48-bed private, free-standing psychiatric hospital located in Maumee, OH. The facility offers a private, confidential and non-institutional environment conducive to healing and recovery and provides a variety of specialized services for adults. This per diem position picks up hours when needed to cover time off or additional patient driving load.
Responsibilities
- Provide transportation services as needed and/or directed.
- Maintain all vehicle transportation and maintenance logs.
- Perform daily inspection of all vehicles, making sure they are fueled and clean.
- Perform preventative maintenance on all vehicles in conjunction with the Lead Maintenance personnel.
- Answer all calls and direct accordingly.
- Coordinate and schedule repair appointments in conjunction with the Lead Maintenance Personnel.
- Assess the vehicles and determine if any items need repair.
- Fuel vehicles and turn in the subsequent credit card receipts.
- Review pre-check sheets and sign off on them.
- Perform routine cleaning of patient rooms, offices, public areas, and trash removal.
- Perform all other duties as required or assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Valid Ohio driver's license and valid vehicle insurance.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Within the last 36 months, cannot have any of the following: been convicted of an alcohol/drug-related offense while driving; had driver's license suspended or revoked; been convicted of two or more speeding violations or one or more other serious violations; and/or been involved in one chargeable accident.
- Ability to be insured on the facility's commercial policy.
Qualifications
- One year previous experience as a driver preferred.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Diplomacy and discretion are essential, as well as excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple projects.
- Professional demeanor and appearance.
