Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations of inpatient transporters throughout the hospital
• Provide exceptional hospitality services in an attentive, friendly, and efficient manner to all patients during their stay
• Supervise transportation of patients within the hospital environment by wheelchair, stretcher, or bed
• Transport patients when needed or required
• Monitor work and leave time of current internal patient transport (IPT) staff, cover breaks and shifts
• Maintain working knowledge of transport ordering systems
• Prepare various reports, including daily productivity reports, conduct surveys, and maintain equipment
• Ensure transports are carried out in compliance with company and hospital policies
• Ensure compliance, accuracy, and additional education of electronic bed board data entry for all personnel
• 24/7 responsibility and accountability for the day-to-day operations of patient movement through the hospital

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required
• Minimum of 6 months experience in a patient transportation department in a health-related facility
• BLS certification required
• Current clinical knowledge required
• Minimum of 6 months management experience preferred
• Complies with hospital employee health, infection control, and safety management programs
