Patient Transport

About the role

Schedule: Part Time, 24 hrs a week, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, Every other weekend from 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient for transport and performs passive and active identification to ensure all patients are properly identified before transporting.
• Transports all patients and equipment to and from testing and procedure areas including inpatient, outpatient, emergency and high risk Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
• Effectively communicates with medical employees to ensure all required medical supplies and medications are appropriately transported with the patient including the administering of oxygen when required.
• Responsible for the timely discharge of patients throughout the hospital.
• Assists in providing support in toileting ambulatory patients under the direction of medical employees and/or Registered Nurse (RN).
• Cleans and disinfects equipment according to established policies and procedures. Maintains clean work areas and returns equipment to appropriate department.
• Communicates malfunctioning equipment/instruments to appropriate department/unit staff.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross
