Patient Sitter (Per Diem)

Posted wage ranges represent the entire range from minimum to maximum. For jobs with more than one level, the posted range reflects the minimum of the lowest level and the maximum of the highest level. Some positions also offer additional premiums based on shift, certifications, or degrees. Job offers are determined based on a candidate's years of relevant experience, level of education, and internal equity.

About the role

Provides assistance to the department clinical staff by monitoring and providing documentation of patients requiring direct visual observation.

Responsibilities

• Provides observation and documentation for patients requiring direct and indirect visual observation related to medical and/or behavioral conditions.
• Redirects patient behavior as needed to promote patient safety.
• Engages patient in diversion activities as needed.
• Provides assistance to the unit assigned at the direction of clinical staff.
• Assists with stocking of department.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification by date of hire.

Qualifications

• 6 months recent experience in a health care setting (desired).
• Customer service experience (desired).
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (desired).
• Behavioral health experience (desired).

Pay

$23.13 - $35.47 per hour
