Patient Sitter- Full Time Evenings

About the role

At Holy Name, the patient care assistant functions under the direction of the professional nurse, performs specific duties necessary for the support of nursing care, and reports all observations and results to the RN.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring the supervision of patients at all times
• Assisting patients with basic personal care and mobility
• Providing patients with emotional support
• Providing nutritional support
• Monitoring patients' vital signs
• Observing changes in the condition of patients and reporting to the registered nurse
• Alerting nursing staff when patients need help
• Maintaining records of care provided for patients
• Maintaining confidentiality of patient information
• Adhering to relevant policies, procedures, and standards
• Completing all required educational programs annually
• Demonstrating understanding of safety and infection control practices, emergency procedures, fire drills, evacuation procedures, and internal/external disaster plans

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• 1-3 years of experience required, or acute/sub-acute experience preferred
• CPR (Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation) - HeartSaver CPR upon hire required
• BCLS (Basic Life Support) - American Heart Association upon hire preferred

Pay

Pay range: $15.49/hour - $19.75/hour. Final base compensation will be determined based on factors such as employment status (Full/Part-Time or Per Diem), skills, education, and experience, with consideration for internal pay equity.
