About the role
Bring hospitality to healthcare! As a Patient Services Worker (Tray Line), you’ll create a personalized dining experience for every patient by taking bedside orders, guiding meal selections from a restaurant-style menu, and ensuring timely, accurate delivery. Your role is all about building connections—with patients and care teams—while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Delivers patient trays during meal service and delivers snacks or proper nourishment to patients.
- Informs patients of the services of the Food and Nutrition Services Department and may obtain food preferences from patients and/or family members.
- Ensures accuracy of food items being delivered to the patient and informs the patient of meal selection and any therapeutic diet information.
- Inventories and restocks goods and supplies to proper levels.
- Maintains the privacy, safety, and dignity of each customer by observing client confidentiality and by strictly adhering to safety and sanitation standards.
- Provides excellent customer service and maintains a positive attitude towards clients, customers, co-workers, hospital staff, etc.
- This role includes food prep, serving on the tray line, washing patient trays in the dish room, delivering meal carts, stocking, cleaning and sanitizing and other food service duties.
- Other duties and tasks as assigned by the manager.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Current, valid ServSafe required.
- Current, valid State Food Handler Card.
- Experience in foodservice, as a dietary clerk, or in a related field preferred.
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Requires strong organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Professional appearance required, with grooming practices that support a safe and sanitary foodservice environment i.e. no nail polish or false eyelashes.
Physical And Sensory Requirements
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and a kitchen environment with fumes, airborne particles, and moderate noise.
- Employees must have the physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift trays, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions, extreme temperatures, and vibration may occur.

Pay
$16-$16.50 per hour.
Schedule
Full-Time Schedule: 10:45am-7pm, 5 days a week (including one weekend day).
