Patient Services Specialist for GI in Happy Valley and NE Portland

The Oregon Clinic is seeking a full-time Patient Services Specialist to join our collaborative team in our Gastroenterology East Clinics located in Happy Valley and Northeast Portland. In this role, you will contribute to our mission of delivering world-class care with kindness and empathy by providing patients and stakeholders with a consistent, efficient, and easy experience.

Responsibilities

• Schedule appointments for new and established patients in an efficient and timely manner.
• Obtain and complete insurance information.
• Answer phones and provide coverage for medical records and front desk teams.
• Update patient records as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

This position is currently phone-based but may require in-office scheduling. Excellent customer service and communication skills are essential due to the high-volume nature of the role.

Requirements

• Minimum of one (1) year of work experience, preferably in a medical office (specialty care GI experience is a plus).
• Prior Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience is strongly preferred; Epic experience is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, initiate tasks, and multitask effectively.
• Familiarity with insurance and referral processes.
• Excellent attendance and strong work ethic.
• Positive attitude and a commitment to teamwork.
• Professional and effective communication with patients, physicians, and team members.
• Commitment to patient-focused care, privacy, and safety.

Pay

Hiring range, based on experience and credentials:

• Level I: $19.59 - $26.51 per hour.
• Level II: $21.55 - $29.16 per hour.
• Level III: $23.71 - $32.07 per hour.

Schedule

This position is primarily located at the GI-Happy Valley clinic with flexibility to work at our GI-Gateway Medical Office Building as needed. Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
