Patient Services Specialist- Atrium Health CMC Infusion

About the role

The Patient Service Specialist position at Carolinas Medical Center - Clinic: Infusion is a full-time, benefits-eligible role with a flexible schedule. The position is located at 7:45am - 4:15pm Monday through Friday, excluding major holidays.

Responsibilities

• Exemplify caring and compassionate customer service to create an excellent patient experience
• Provide exemplary interpersonal skills and ability to interact with patients and families in a wide variety of sensitive situations
• Demonstrate critical thinking skills and decisive judgment in an often-hectic environment and possess the ability to work cohesively on a team and independently with minimal supervision
• Manage patient registration, insurance verification, scheduling, collection and cash receipting, arrival and/or departure desk activities according to standards and guidelines ensuring accuracy and an outstanding patient experience
• Encourage patient utilization of front-end technology during the registration process
• Enter and maintain confidential and accurate patient information including patient insurance, billing, and payment information throughout the patient encounter
• Absolutely assist billing functions accurately and/or direct to appropriate billing office
• Demonstrate proficiency of emergency codes and appropriate responses as well as applicable federal and state healthcare regulations
• Maintain inventory and stock medications, narcotics, and emergency medications/equipment

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Computer experience required
• Customer relations experience required
• Experience with Medical Records Software preferred
• Front desk practice experience preferred

• Must be able to sit for long periods of time and work in a fast-paced office environment
• Should be able to bend and lift up to 10 lbs

Pay

Base compensation listed within the listed pay range based on factors such as qualifications, skills, relevant experience, and/or training. Premium pay such as shift, on call, and more based on a teammate's job. Opportunity for annual increases based on performance.
