Patient Services Specialist
About the role
The Admitting Representative is responsible for securing appropriate patient account reimbursement by obtaining complex demographic, insurance and medical information and ensuring this is documented timely and accurately. They also provide assistance, directions, and instructions to visitors, patients and the general public regarding hospital/patient information.
Responsibilities
- Secure appropriate patient account reimbursement by obtaining complex demographic, insurance and medical information and ensuring accurate documentation.
- Provide assistance, directions, and instructions to visitors, patients and the general public regarding hospital/patient information.
Requirements
- 1 year of experience in customer service or healthcare registration.
- A track record in organizing and planning with demonstrated ability to effectively manage time and achieve results in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma or GED.
- Coursework/Training: Some college level coursework, particularly Medical Terminology or Medical Assistance.
- National Certification of CHAA upon hire.
- Admitting Representative and third party payor experience.
Skills
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Pay
The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
