Patient Services Representative (PSR) - Urgent Care Virginia

About the role

The Patient Services Representative plays a crucial role in providing strong communication and excellent customer service, processing patient referrals, registration, and insurance verification.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and the community respectfully
• Receive and process patient referrals
• Verify patient demographics and obtain insurance cards
• Update medical records accurately and efficiently
• Schedule appointments and transcribe orders
• Explain financial options to patients
• Inform supervisor of any department and patient issues immediately
• Coordinate and prioritize bed placement needs

Requirements

• High School Degree or GED
• Associates Degree in Healthcare or related field preferred
• Knowledge of medical billing procedures
• Medical office software experience
• Basic knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT coding preferred
• Prior medical office experience preferred
