About the role

The Advanced Patient Services Representative plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic practice by managing patient interactions, administrative tasks, and providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Manage patient interactions and administrative tasks efficiently.
  • Interact with patients, healthcare professionals, and other staff members with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Use proficiency in basic computer skills, including data entry and word processing.
  • Provide excellent customer service by interacting with patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Show empathy, patience, and the ability to handle inquiries and concerns with tact and diplomacy.
  • Maintain accuracy and attention to detail, particularly when entering patient information, scheduling appointments, and processing documentation.
  • Handle confidentiality and follow privacy policy/procedure with discretion and professionalism.
  • Work effectively under pressure, handling unexpected situations with professionalism and composure.
  • Resolve patient concerns, complaints, and issues in a professional and timely manner, escalating complex problems to appropriate personnel when necessary.
  • Perform duties that require pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally, standing, walking, gripping, reaching, bending, kneeling, twisting, and squatting.

Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Proficient in both Patient Services Representative and Advance Patient Services Representative competencies, as verified by department leader.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance practices, and billing procedures.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including data entry and word processing.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Empathy, patience, and ability to handle inquiries and concerns with tact and diplomacy.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Confidentiality and following privacy policy/procedure.
  • Adaptability and ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Problem resolution skills.
