Patient Services Representative Associate

Job Summary

Aid and educate patients, providers, medical office staff, and/or Health system staff regarding accessing services, problem-solving, and navigating questions. Ensure exceptional experiences through various communication channels. Follow established procedures and guidelines while upholding Patient Access Services Center performance indicators and corporate values.

Essential Functions

• Serve as a concierge, greeting and communicating with patients or visitors.
• Perform clerical tasks such as answering calls, scheduling appointments, ordering supplies, generating letters, sorting mail, processing deliveries, and reporting registration.
• Identify and remind patients about health maintenance needs.
• Document patient calls in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) for routing and resolution.
• Handle patient registration and check-in, verifying demographic and insurance information, assisting with self-registration, and confirming appointments.
• Manage patient check-out, scheduling follow-up appointments, or confirming future appointments.
• Maintain patient medical records according to standards and upload documents into EPIC.
• Scan EMR/EHR data as needed.
• Participate in safety initiatives and complete required safety training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred 1 year of relevant experience in insurance billing, access management, patient financial services, electronic health records, lab service support, or similar fields.
