About the role

The Patient Services Director at Tareen Dermatology provides strategic and operational leadership for patient access and service functions across all Tareen Dermatology locations. This leader plays an essential role in creating a consistent, efficient, and compassionate patient experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to Patient Services supervisors, leads, and team members.
  • Oversee patient-facing operations across multiple locations, including our Call Center and Front Desk teams.
  • Provide oversight of Credentialing, Prior Authorization, Specialty Benefits, and Referral Outreach functions.
  • Ensure scheduling, registration, check-in/check-out, intake, and other patient access processes operate efficiently and consistently.
  • Establish and monitor standards for call quality, responsiveness, scheduling accuracy, patient communication, and service recovery.
  • Develop and improve workflows that enhance efficiency, quality, compliance, and patient satisfaction.
  • Use patient feedback, service trends, call metrics, and operational data to identify opportunities and drive meaningful improvements.
  • Own departmental KPIs, scorecards, and performance expectations while building a culture of accountability and transparency.
  • Recruit, develop, coach, and retain strong teams while supporting leadership development and succession planning.
  • Partner closely with clinical, business office, marketing, Human Resources, and executive leadership to improve the overall patient experience.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and applicable regulatory and organizational standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Management, Operations, or a related field preferred; master's degree is a plus.
  • 5–7 years of progressive healthcare operations or patient access experience, with leadership experience in a multi-site environment preferred.
  • Experience in dermatology, specialty practice, ambulatory care, or another high-volume patient service environment preferred.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, team-management, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Experience with patient access functions such as scheduling, registration, front desk operations, call centers, prior authorizations, benefits coordination, credentialing, and referrals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate operational metrics into actionable improvements.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to successfully manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, multi-location environment.
  • Proficiency with medical EHR and practice management systems; EMA experience is preferred.
