About the role
The Patient Services Coord Lead schedules and registers patients for the outpatient clinic, verifies eligibility, ensures pre-authorizations, referrals, and pre-certifications, trains new team members, leads front office operations, and serves as a liaison with revenue cycle staff.
Responsibilities
- Schedules and registers patients for the outpatient clinic
- Verifies eligibility and obtains necessary pre-authorizations, referrals, and pre-certifications
- Trains new Patient Service Coordinator team members
- Manages daily operations of the front office, ensuring quality and outcomes of front office processes and responsibilities
- Leads front office staff meetings and ensures coverage
- Serves as a liaison with revenue cycle staff and ensures timely billing and appropriate collections
- Liaises with supervisor or clinic leader for front office issues
- Performs other job-related duties as directed
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of related experience (admitting, business office, scheduling) required. Previous leadership experience preferred.

- Knowledge of basic medical terminology
- Excellent customer service skills
- Insurance knowledge for certain tasks
- Communicative, auditory, and visual skills
- Attention to detail and legible handwriting
- Ability to lift/push/pull up to 100 lbs. and use safe handling equipment for weights over 35 lbs.
Physical Demands
The job requires constant standing, frequent walking, and bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills are required. Attention to detail and ability to write legibly are important. The incumbent may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned.
