About the role

Illinois Bone & Joint Institute, LLC (IBJI) is seeking a Patient Services Coordinator II to join our Joliet Physical and Occupational Therapy team. IBJI is a leading orthopedic group practice in Illinois, offering comprehensive care across various specialties.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients and visitors by providing exceptional customer service
  • Prepare paperwork to facilitate efficient operations and excellent customer service
  • Answer general inquiries, schedule appointments, and manage phone reception
  • Perform registration and pre-registration procedures, including reviewing patient demographics and insurance information
  • Handle check-in and check-out procedures, collect patient responsibility payments, and manage insurance verification and referral management
  • Aid in training and mentoring new staff members
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Perform other office duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associates degree in healthcare concentration field preferred
  • Minimum three years experience in customer service role, with at least one year in a patient services-related role
  • Minimum one year of EHR experience, preferably with Epic
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications
  • Familiarity with scheduling and appointment management
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
  • Team player with strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Flexible schedule to accommodate changing practices

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Proficiency in handling insurance claims and benefits
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn new technologies

Skills

Pay

$19.00-$24.00/hr based on education and experience

Schedule

Available to work every shift (opening, mid, and closing) between 6:30am to 8:00pm Monday through Thursday; 7:00am to 5:30pm on Fridays. No weekends.
