Responsibilities
- Welcome patients and visitors to IBJI by providing and maintaining the highest quality customer service experience
- Prepare paperwork to facilitate efficient operation and excellent customer service
- Answer general inquiries, schedule appointments, perform phone reception, patient triage, and escalate to appropriate staff
- Register/patient pre-registration procedures, including reviewing patient demographics, insurance, and advising patients to provide necessary documents
- Perform check-in/check-out procedures, manage patient charts, collect/post patient responsibility payments (including copays and deductibles), and verify/referral insurance
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Perform other office duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bilingual candidates are preferred
- One year experience in customer service role (medical office experience preferred)
- EHR experience (Epic experience preferred)
- Knowledge in medical terminology preferred
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications
- Familiarity with scheduling and rearranging appointments
- Ability to handle highly confidential, sensitive and non-routine information
- Possess good working knowledge of insurance payer and eligibility knowledge
- Team player with ability to work in a fast-paced environment and have a flexible schedule as needed
- Neat, professional appearance
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Results oriented with concern for appropriate process
- Willingness to attend and successfully complete ongoing training required to maintain responsibilities
Physical/Mental Demands
- Work may require hand dexterity for office machine operation; using a calculator and/or computer keyboard
- Physical demands may also include, stooping, bending or reaching to files and supplies, wearing a headset, mobility to complete errands or deliveries, sitting for extended periods of time and viewing a computer monitor
- Work is performed in a fast paced office environment and involves frequent contact with physicians, staff, patients, and the public
- Work may be stressful at times. Contact may involve dealing with angry or upset people

Pay
$17.00-$22.00/hour based on education & experience
