Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients with warmth, professionalism, and compassion.
  • Coordinate patient registration, scheduling, referrals, insurance verification, and other front-office functions.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for patients, families, providers, and team members.
  • Ensure accurate documentation while maintaining confidentiality and compliance.
  • Support operational excellence by improving workflows and delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Create a welcoming environment that reflects Novant Health’s commitment to remarkable patient care.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • Three years of experience in a medical office setting, required. Other related experience may be considered in lieu of medical office experience.

Skills

  • Required:
    • Knowledge of medical office software for updating patient demographic information, posting charges, copays, and scheduling patient appointments.
    • Understanding of CPT and ICD-9-CM coding processes.
    • Excellent verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work with changing priorities.
    • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
    • Ability to interact with individuals of all cultures and levels of authority.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
    • Ability to function as part of a team.
    • Initiative and self-motivation.
    • Basic medical terminology (knowledge can be obtained through formal classes or work experience).
    • High level of working knowledge of EPIC systems.
    • Detailed knowledge of multiple payors billing requirements.
    • Familiarity with coding requirements for practice specialty.
  • Preferred:
    • Proficient in the use of all computer software utilized in the practice.

Schedule

Full Time, Monday - Friday, 7:15 AM - 3:45 PM
