About the role

As a Patient Services Advocate at Northwest Extremity Specialists, you will help resolve patient issues related to claims, benefits, referrals, physicians, and access. You will manage a high volume of inbound calls, enter patient information into systems, and resolve caller issues with outstanding customer service. You will also assist in coordinating center activities, advising patient flow, and supporting medical providers in delivering patient care, particularly during intake and registration. As an ambassador, you will welcome patients, manage expectations, and ensure a positive front-office experience while demonstrating compassion and respect. You will function as part of the healthcare team, assisting in patient-focused care through excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and verify the purpose of the patient’s visit to determine priority.
  • Input all patient information into the practice management system.
  • Verify eligibility and perform financial screenings.
  • Monitor patient wait times and proactively communicate status updates.
  • Schedule appointments.
  • Review and prepare charts in advance of visits.
  • Manage telephone communications, ensuring all calls are answered and resolved.
  • Communicate with the patient care team (medical assistants, providers, and other team members) to ensure seamless transitions and meet all patient needs.
  • Collect patient co-pays and payments, and perform daily reconciliation of collections.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness of waiting rooms.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information (including HIPAA and PHI) in compliance with federal, state, and company policies.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment without direct supervision.
  • Ability to identify areas of opportunity, develop improvement plans, and implement and evaluate them effectively.
  • Ability to resolve colleague, client, and patient issues in an effective and timely manner.

Experience

  • Three (3) or more years of experience in a medical setting preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, especially in patient and physician relations.

Pay

$21–$25 USD per hour.
