Patient Service Specialist- Atrium Health Urgent Care Fort Mill Immediate Care PRN

About the role

The Department 02190 GCMG Urgent Care: Fort Mill is seeking a part-time, Benefits Eligible, PRN position working 8am-8pm. This is an immediate care status position with a pay range of $19.80 - $29.70 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Exemplify caring and compassionate customer service to create an excellent patient experience
• Provide exemplary interpersonal skills and ability to interact with patients and families in a wide variety of sensitive situations
• Demonstrate critical thinking skills and decisive judgment in an often-hectic environment and possess the ability to work cohesively on a team and independently with minimal supervision
• Manage patient registration, insurance verification, scheduling, collection and cash receipting, arrival and/or departure desk activities according to standards and guidelines ensuring accuracy and an outstanding patient experience
• Encourage patient utilization of front-end technology during the registration process
• Enter and maintain confidential and accurate patient information including patient insurance, billing, and payment information throughout patient encounter
• Assist with billing functions accurately and/or direct to appropriate billing office
• Demonstrate proficiency of emergency codes and appropriate responses as well as applicable federal and state healthcare regulations
• Maintain inventory and stock medications, narcotics, and emergency medications/equipment

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Computer experience required
• Customer relations experience required
• Experience with Medical Records Software preferred
• Front desk practice experience preferred

Qualifications

• Must be able to sit for long periods of time and work in a fast-paced office environment
• Should be able to bend and lift up to 10 lbs

Pay

The pay range for this position is $19.80 - $29.70 per hour.

Schedule

This is a PRN position working 8am-8pm, with the candidate required to cover one shift per week within a six-week scheduling period. Additional hours or days may be needed, requiring flexibility.
