Patient Service Representative PRN (As Needed)

About the Role

Patient Service Representative PRN – responsible for acting as the first point of contact for patients by greeting, gathering information, registering and posting payments. This position is critical to Solis Mammography by providing outstanding patient care and maintaining the flow of the center, impacting the organization’s profitability.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients in a professional and friendly manner.
• Register patients accurately, entering demographic and insurance information into the RIS and verifying accuracy.
• Explain forms to patients and assist with completion via paper or tablet.
• Scan and link documents to patient medical records while maintaining confidentiality.
• Collect patient payments and explain insurance benefits when necessary.
• Prepare paperwork for future appointments, including additional forms for specific exams or payors.
• Ensure all diagnostic tests have required orders; request and follow‑up on outstanding requests.
• Schedule and reschedule patients as needed.
• Generate daily invoice journal and reconcile payments using the Daily Reconciliation Report.
• Participate in front‑office training to stay current on policies and procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Two years of healthcare registration or customer service experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of cash handling.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions and short correspondence.
• Ability to apply common‑sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods.
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of RIS software preferred.

Schedule

PRN/As needed – availability to cover PTO during the week for various shifts (7:30 am – 4:30 pm) and some Saturdays a month (8 am – 12 pm).
